How to Set Up & Pack Away the Core 9-Person Instant Cabin Tent
Unpacking the Tent
When you first open the Core 9-Person Instant Cabin Tent box, you’ll find a carry bag. Inside the bag, there’s a white rainfly, a room divider, some repair patches, and the main tent body with pre-attached poles. Additionally, you’ll find 18 stakes in a separate carry case.
Setting Up the Tent
- Unfold the Tent: Lay the tent flat on the ground. The only part that won’t be flat is the center hub, which sticks out.
- Raise the Tent: Step onto the tent body and pull it upward using the two hubs to the left and right of the center hub. These hubs are at the top of the tent, where multiple poles connect. Pulling on these hubs will lift the rest of the poles. You might need to prop up some of the other poles yourself.
- Extend the Poles: Extend all the telescoping wall poles by pulling them apart until you hear a click, indicating the pole is fully extended. Start at one end of the tent and work your way to the other end.
- Drape the Rainfly: Place the rainfly over the tent, ensuring the Core logo is on one of the short sides. Secure the rainfly by hooking it to the notches on each steel pole. There are six hooks and notches, three at the front and three at the back. Tighten the rainfly by pulling on the strap in front.
- Stake the Tent: Pull the tent tight and stake down the base using the loops at the base of each steel pole and four additional loops around the base, totaling ten stakes. Use six more stakes for the six pre-attached guylines. There are also Velcro attachments under the rainfly to secure it to each steel pole if desired. Finally, use the last two stakes to secure the vents, one on each side of the tent.
Time Required for Setup
Setting up the Core 9-Person Instant Cabin Tent took about six minutes with two people. Doing it alone took about twelve minutes. If you’re not very tall, it’s easier to attach the rainfly when the tent is halfway up.
Taking Down the Tent
- Remove Stakes and Guylines: Remove all the stakes and guylines.
- Detach the Rainfly: Unclip the six clips around the tent and take off the rainfly.
- Retract the Poles: Press the green button on each telescoping wall pole and push down until fully retracted. The tent should collapse as you retract the poles.
- Fold the Tent: Push all the elbow joints inward, then push the right and left hubs towards the center hub. The tent should now be flat.
Packing Up the Tent
- Fold the Tent Body: Start by folding the four corners toward the center. Pick up the center hub and fold the poles towards it. Align all the poles together horizontally.
- Pack the Tent Fabric: Pack the tent fabric tightly, pushing out any air, and tie it up with the poles.
- Store in the Carry Bag: Place the tent and poles back into the carry bag. Fold the rainfly into a small enough size to fit into the bag as well.
Time Required for Packing Up
Packing up the Core 9-Person Instant Cabin Tent took about four and a half minutes with two people. Alone, it took about nine minutes, as folding the poles toward the center hub was more challenging.
Conclusion
The Core 9-Person Instant Cabin Tent is straightforward to set up and pack away, especially with two people. Whether you’re camping alone or with help, this tent provides a spacious and easy-to-manage option for your outdoor adventures.
